Siblings Andrea and Martin Šulc will guide curious listeners through the sonic recesses of the accordion. They will showcase the instrument’s capabilities not only through compositions by J. S. Bach and J. Weinberg, but above all by Czech composers J. Feld and J. Laburda, and world premiere Meditativo for two accordions by contemporary composer Darja Kukal Moiseeva.

Martin Šulc

Accordionist Martin Šulc is a graduate of the Prague Conservatory under the guidance of Ladislav Horák. While still at the elementary arts school in Třeboň, where he studied with Lenka Slaninová, he won many awards at national and international accordion competitions. His successes then culminated at the Prague Conservatory, where he became a laureate of competitions such as Alcobaca in Portugal and a video competition in New Zealand, and excelled in the final rounds of competitions in Shenzhen, China, and Castelfidardo, Italy. He also became a multiple winner of the Masters category at the National Accordion Competition in Dobřany. He participated in the television competition show Virtuosos V4+, patronized by Placido Domingo, and became the winner for the Czech Republic. In 2023, he also participated in a global competition organized by the Societa Umanitaria association in Milan, where he reached the final rounds among the 23 best students from conservatories and universities around the world. These successes have brought Martin concerts at renowned international festivals, such as the International Festival in Český Krumlov, the Czech Philharmonic Chamber Music Society (Suk Hall, Rudolfinum), Culture in the Heart of Prague, Music Festival in Prague, Young Prague, and others. He has also had the opportunity to play with the best performers in the Czech Republic. He completed his studies at the conservatory with an accordion concert by Petr Fiala, accompanied by the Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra.
Since October 2024, he has been studying at the Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen, Germany under Prof. Hans Maier.

Andrea Šulcová

Accordionist Andrea Šulcová studies at the Prague Conservatory under the guidance of Professor Ladislav Horák. She comes from Třeboň, where she attended the Elementary Art School under the guidance of Lenka Slaninová. Early on, she has participated in many national and international competitions, where she has won numerous awards (2nd place in a competition in Belgium, 2nd place in an online competition in Italy, advancement to the finals in Munich, 2nd place at an international competition in Dobřany with advancement to the international Trophée Mondiale CMA competition, participation in the Premio internazionale Fisarmonica). In 2018, she also received the South Bohemian Region Talent Award. She regularly performs on young artist’s stage of the festivaů Třeboňská nocturna and at the Třeboň Summer Courses. Together with the Czech Accordion Ensemble, she performs at concerts and festivals at home and abroad, alongside violinists Jaroslav Svěcený and Václav Hudeček.

In 2024, she began performing in a multimedia show called Já, secese (“I, Art Nouveau”) at the Hybernia Theater, received a Dagmar and Václav Havel VIZE 97 scholarship, and performed at the Bon Art Junior Fest gala evening accompanied by the Bon Art Pop Orchestra conducted by Felix Slováček Jr.

Darja Kukal Moiseeva

Darja Kukal Moiseeva, winner of the Most Successful Classical Music Composer Under 35 award, graduated from the Prague Conservatory and has been studying in Jan Dušek’s class at Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague since 2019, where she completed her bachelor’s degree with the composition Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra performed by Walter Hofbauer and the PKF – Prague Philharmonia conducted by Marián Lejava. In 2024, she won first prize for her composition Stillness for piano, vibraphone, clarinet, and cello in the Leonardo 4 Children Music Awards international competition. A year earlier, she was awarded in the same competition for her composition Calmness II for clarinet and vibraphone. She was also awarded two years in a row at the GENERACE International Competition for Young Composers: first for her composition …ash is in the air (2024), and second for Everything that wasn’t created by a human (2025). As part of the Prague Spring 2024 festival, Darja had the opportunity to participate in a masterclass as part of the Offspring Reading lessons with Klangforum Wien and conductor Enno Poppe.
In 2021, Darja founded her own music school, Darjina Škola hudbou (Darja’s School through Music), and for the fifth year she has been organizing Composition Afternoons for local students in collaboration with the Horní Slavkov Music School. She also adapts and arranges existing compositions for various musical ensembles (Mucha Trio, Police Symphony Orchestra, Vážný zájem).
Since 2025, she has been studying composition as part of the Erasmus+ program at the Kunst-Universität in Graz, Austria, under Professor Annesley Black. She also attends private lessons with Klaus Lang in Austria.
