The Neo-Renaissance building, originally a German gymnasium, was built in 1902 in the style of the Italian Renaissance. The school met the most modern teaching standards of its time. It therefore included specialized classrooms, a library, a gymnasium, a ceremonial hall, and a small chapel with the altar of St. Elizabeth. The Czech Reformed Real Gymnasium was established in 1919.
