Prague Brass Quintet

PBtet is one of the most successful brass ensembles of the younger generation. It was founded in 2016 and has since gained attention both at home and abroad. In 2019, it won the prestigious Jeju International Brass & Percussion Competition, and in subsequent years it added awards from the Bucharest International Music Competition and the International Music Competition OPUS.
With its current lineup of Walter Hofbauer, Stanislav Masaryk (trumpets), Daniela Roubíčková (French horn), Barbora Kolafová (trombone) and Jakub Chmelař (tuba), PBtet is one of the most prominent Czech chamber ensembles. All are members of leading Czech orchestras, with both trumpeters serving as principal trumpeters of Czech Philharmonic.
PBtet’s repertoire is based on works originally written for brass quintet but extends far beyond the classical repertoire – from jazz to film and popular music. Thanks to this diversity, the ensemble can adapt its program to any event or venue. In addition, the ensemble seeks collaboration with contemporary composers and enjoys taking on new musical challenges.
The ensemble regularly performs at festivals in the Czech Republic and abroad. In 2021, the ensemble released its debut album “JOY” under its original name Prague BRASStet, which showcases their energetic and distinctive approach to brass music. The quintet wins over audiences with its technical precision, but above all with its lively and captivating performance.
