Through its programme and increasingly international reach, it also contributes to the presentation of Czech culture abroad.<\/p><p style=\"color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica; font-size: 16px;\">In <strong>2026, the festival celebrates its 11th edition<\/strong>.<\/p><p style=\"color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica; font-size: 16px;\">LVHF is distinguished above all by its unique combination of outstanding music, exceptional historic venues and the story of the Lednice-Valtice cultural landscape. Each edition is built around a new dramaturgical theme inspired by the history of the region, its architecture and notable personalities, while also reflecting important musical anniversaries and developing cultural links between Moravia, Austria and other European countries. The festival is also systematically committed to rediscovering musical heritage, including through modern-day premieres of works preserved in the <strong>Valtice Music Collection<\/strong>, now housed in Brno.<\/p><p style=\"color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica; font-size: 16px;\">The festival takes place every year at the end of September and beginning of October, primarily within the <strong>Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape in the South Moravian Region<\/strong>, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Concerts are held in castles, churches, riding halls and other historic buildings associated with the House of Liechtenstein, as well as at other venues across South Moravia and in Austria.<\/p><p style=\"color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica; font-size: 16px;\">For centuries, the Liechtensteins played a fundamental role in shaping the cultural character of this region. Music was a natural part of life at their residences, and prominent musicians and ensembles from Vienna, Brno and other European centres regularly visited the estates, particularly during the traditional autumn hunting season. LVHF consciously builds on this cultural tradition, returning music to the places with which it was historically closely connected.<\/p><p style=\"color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica; font-size: 16px;\">Since its inaugural edition in <strong>2016<\/strong>, which had the intimate character of just two concerts and featured violinist <strong>V\u00e1clav Hude\u010dek<\/strong> as its principal artistic personality, the festival has grown significantly. Today, over the course of several weeks, it presents an extensive programme of concerts, lectures, educational projects and other accompanying events, regularly welcoming leading Czech and international soloists, conductors and ensembles.<\/p><p style=\"color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica; font-size: 16px;\">LVHF has attracted audiences not only from the Czech Republic but also from neighbouring <strong>Austria and Slovakia<\/strong>. In recent years, its international dimension has continued to develop through cross-border projects, international partnerships and concerts presented in Austria.<\/p><h3 style=\"color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica;\">Accompanying and Educational Programme<\/h3><p style=\"color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica; font-size: 16px;\">Alongside its main concert programme, LVHF also organises <strong>lectures and specialist events<\/strong> linked thematically to the dramaturgy of each festival edition. Historians, musicologists and other experts use these events to introduce audiences to the broader historical, musical and cultural contexts behind the festival programme.<\/p><p style=\"color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica; font-size: 16px;\">Another important part of the festival is its <strong>educational concerts and programmes for schools<\/strong>, which introduce children and young people to the world of classical music, individual musical instruments, composers and different historical periods in an engaging and accessible way.<\/p><p style=\"color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica; font-size: 16px;\">The programme is regularly complemented by <strong>exhibitions, art workshops and other projects<\/strong> connecting music with visual art, history and architecture. A. Mozart and F. Schubert, admired by the Lichtenstein family architect <\/span><b>Josef Hardtmuth<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Ensembles like <\/span><b>Pavel Haas Quartet<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>PhilHarmonia Octet Prague<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Jan\u00e1\u010dek Chamber Orchestra<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>Barocco sempre giovane<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> performed. Soloists included <\/span><b>Kate\u0159ina Jav\u016frkov\u00e1<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Jan Mr\u00e1\u010dek<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Ji\u0159\u00ed B\u00e1rta<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>Patricia Jane\u010dkov\u00e1<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: left;\" start=\"3\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><b> Edition (LVMF 2018)<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The third edition was led by the last conductor of the Lichtenstein family, <\/span><b>Josef Triebensee<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Together with the <\/span><b>Czech Philharmonic Choir<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>St. Gel\u00e9rt Academy Orchestra<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Belfiato Quintet<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>Musica Florea<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, performers included <\/span><b>Svatopluk Sem<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Doubravka Sou\u010dkov\u00e1<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Aleksander Rewinski<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>Petr Nekoranec<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with <\/span><b>Simona \u0160aturov\u00e1<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: left;\" start=\"4\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><b> Edition (LVMF 2019)<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The fourth edition celebrated 300 years since the founding of the Lichtenstein Principality and 770 years since the Lichtensteins settled in the region. Several composers who served them, such as <\/span><b>Johann Georg Orschler<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Johann Melchior Pichler<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>Nicolaus Zangius<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, were honored. Performers included <\/span><b>Adam Plachetka<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Collegium Marianum<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>PKF \u2013 Prague Philharmonie<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Luk\u00e1\u0161 Vondr\u00e1\u010dek<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Cosima Soulez Larivi\u00e9re<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and others.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: left;\" start=\"5\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><b> Edition (LVMF 2020)<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The fifth edition focused on classical music inspired by folk art in the broadest sense. It featured performances by <\/span><b>Ostrava Klezmer Band<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Janoska Ensemble<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Jan\u00e1\u010dek Chamber Orchestra<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> accompanying <\/span><b>Folkloreclassic<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>Pavel Haas Quartet<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> performing Smetana&#8217;s Quartet From My Life.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: left;\" start=\"6\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><b> Edition (LVMF 2021)<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The sixth edition paid tribute to <\/span><b>Antonio Vivaldi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in each concert, marking 280 years since his death. World-renowned interpreters like <\/span><b>Jakub J\u00f3zef Orli\u0144ski<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Fabio Biondi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Amandine Beyer<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>Delphine Galou<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, along with ensembles <\/span><b>Ensemble Matheus<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Ensemble Scaramuccia<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Accademia Bizantina<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Europa Galante<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and others participated. The opening concert by <\/span><b>Jakub J\u00f3zef Orli\u0144ski<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with <\/span><b>Ensemble Matheus<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> received significant acclaim from media critics. <\/span><b>Luk\u00e1\u0161 Pavlica<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, for \u010casopis Harmonie, stated, &#8220;<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The opening concert sparked great expectations with its remarkable program and star-studded lineup. I dare say \u2013 even on my own \u2013 that many of these expectations were surpassed. The Lednice-Valtice Music Festival, with its opening concert, challenged not only other often much larger festivals with long-standing traditions but also partly challenged itself<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8230;&#8221;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Similar praise was garnered by Fabio Biondi&#8217;s closing concert with Europa Galante, where according to <\/span><b>Ji\u0159\u00ed Vejvoda<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;The festival&#8217;s finale, performed by the Europa Galante ensemble under the direction of Fabio Biondi, a virtuoso on baroque violin, lived up to the reputation of MIDEM Classical Award winners and Grammy nominees.&#8221;<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: left;\" start=\"7\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><b> Edition (LVMF 2022)<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The seventh edition focused on the music of the former Yugoslavia, guided by the Croatian composer <\/span><b>Dora Peja\u010devi\u0107<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Czech and international artists performed her compositions, including <\/span><b>Ensemble Illyrica<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with <\/span><b>Josipa Bainac<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Daniel Karvay<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Vid Veljak<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the <\/span><b>Bohuslav Martin\u016f Philharmonic<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Aljo\u0161a Jurini\u010d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Latica Ani\u0107<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, as well as <\/span><b>Boris Pr\u00fdgl<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Nika Gori\u010d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with the <\/span><b>Jan\u00e1\u010dek Philharmonic Orchestra Ostrava<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: left;\" start=\"8\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><b> Edition (LVMF 2023)<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The mission of the eighth edition of the Lednice-Valtice Music Festival in 2023 was to &#8220;give space to promising musicians.&#8221; In its programming, it focused attention on emerging stars in the music world. Over 14 days, it introduced a selection of young Czech and international talents accompanied by their mentors and renowned ensembles. The criteria for the final selection of <\/span><b>rising stars LVMF 2023<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> were: under 25 years of age and recognized participation or victory in internationally acclaimed music competitions.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LVMF 2023 presented some of the most striking talents of the present day to the international audience, along with their mentors. The festival opened with the <\/span><b>Brno Philharmonic<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (premiere at LVMF) conducted by <\/span><b>Tom\u00e1\u0161 Netopil<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The main concerts featured the <\/span><b>PKF-Prague Philharmonia (PKF)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Barocco sempre giovane<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Wranitzky Kapelle<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>Orquestrina Baborak<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Among established orchestras, one of the greatest talents the Czech Republic has ever had, violinist <\/span><b>Daniel Matej\u010da<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the winner of Eurovision Young Musicians 2022, performed at two LVMF 2023 concerts. Other young Czech artists included double bassist <strong>Indi Stiv\u00edn<\/strong>, pianist <\/span><b>Maty\u00e1\u0161 Nov\u00e1k<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, conductor <\/span><b>Nikol Kraft<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, oboist <\/span><b>Tereza Tourkov\u00e1<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, soprano <\/span><b>Ad\u00e9la \u0158eho\u0159ov\u00e1<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and the boys&#8217; choir <\/span><b>Boni pueri<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. International guests invited to LVMF 2023 included pianist <\/span><b>Maxim Lando<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (USA), violinist <\/span><b>Michelle Stern<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (USA), soprano <\/span><b>Daria Kolisan<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Ukraine), baritone <\/span><b>Yurii Strakhov<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Ukraine), and French horn player <\/span><b>Victor Teodesiev<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Bulgaria).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><b>Marek \u0160tilec<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Radek Babor\u00e1k<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>V\u00e1clav Hude\u010dek<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> were among the festival&#8217;s conductors and mentors.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"9\">\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><b> Edition (LVMF 2024)<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 12pt;\">The ninth edition of the Lednice-Valtice Music Festival (LVHF) featured a unique dramaturgy inspired by Freemasonry\u2014its ideas, symbols, and the life stories of composers who wrote for prominent Masonic lodges. Mozart<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 12pt;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 12pt;\">The festival&#8217;s closing concert was crowned by a festive performance of Beethoven&#8217;s Symphony No. 9 with the &#8220;Ode to Joy&#8221;, marking both the 200th anniversary of its premiere and the 20th anniversary of the Czech Republic&#8217;s accession to the European Union.
