CAF – The Czech Association of Festivals brings together important festivals of live art across artistic disciplines: classical music, alternative music, jazz, world music, opera, dance and new circus.
Enthusiasm, joy and good mood carried through the 7th Lednice-Valtice Music Festival (LVMF). The organizers prepared eight classical music concerts, which took place from 24 September to 8 October 2022. As a result, the festival gained a new concert venue such as the Mansion Pohansko and the premiere of a music piece written for the festival. The whole programme highlighted the legacy of the Moravian Croats who lived in the territory of South Moravia in the past. “I try to discover interesting buildings of the Lednice-Valtice area throughout the festival and make them accessible through music. Saturday’s opening of the 7th year of the Lednice-Valtice Music Festival was spectacular. On the spot, we were captivated by a unique performance of a composition by Johaness Brahms and Dora Pejačević. This great experience was mediated by the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of conductor Robert Kružík and soloists Dalibor Karvay and Vid Veljak. Undoubtedly, Lednice-Valtice area is a landscape marked by many hunting lodges. One of them is Hardtmuth’s Temple of Diana – Rendez-vous near Valtice. Built between 1810 and 1813, its design deliberately imitates the Roman triumphal arches. Contacts, impulses, friendships In the 19th century, the contacts of Croatian composers with Czech cultural centres and artists began to enrich Croatian music.
